I’ve spent most of my career watching spaces change people. It’s the central premise of everything we do at officeinsight magazine. Places where we work contribute greatly to how we think, collaborate, create and feel. That conviction has never wavered for me. If anything, it’s deepened.

So when our team started paying closer attention to what was happening in schools, colleges and universities, I felt that same conviction light up in a different direction. The transformation happening in educational environments right now is foundational. And it deserves more than a sidebar.

That’s why we’re proud to announce the launch of learninginsight magazine, debuting July 22, 2026.

learninginsight will be a publication dedicated entirely to the intersection of design and human performance in learning environments — from K–12 classrooms to university campuses, from collaborative maker spaces to the quiet corners where students study. It will serve the architects, interior designers, facility managers, manufacturers, dealers, educators and institutional leaders who are doing the hard, meaningful work of shaping where learning happens.

This isn’t a pivot for OI Publications. Think of it as an expansion of the same mission that drives officeinsight, along with our other publications, viewpoint and Converge. We’ve always believed that design is inseparable from the human experience it serves. learninginsight simply extends that belief into one of the most consequential spaces — the classrooms and other places where the next generation learns and thinks.

There is no shortage of things to write about and discuss. Schools and universities across the country are grappling with huge issues like shifting pedagogical models, the lingering and sometimes clarifying lessons of the pandemic, relentless pressure to integrate technology thoughtfully and a renewed urgency around student and faculty wellbeing. These conversations are happening in every school architect’s studio, every facilities department and every school board room. What’s been missing is a publication that follows them with the depth and seriousness they deserve.

learninginsight will be that publication.

What gives us enormous confidence in this launch — frankly, what made it possible — is the team leading it. Jolene Levin will serve as editor, and Dr. Lennie Scott-Webber will contribute as an editor-at-large with her own feature column, “Reflections,” running in every issue. Jolene and Dr. Lennie are the perfect partners for this magazine. They are experts in the field who have their fingers on the pulse of future-focused learning experiences.

Jolene has built a career at the precise crossroads of design, education and human-centered thinking. She understands how physical space influences student outcomes, teacher experience and community connection. That understanding will define how learninginsight selects, frames and develops its coverage.

Dr. Lennie Scott-Webber is an international thought leader whose work has long focused on the students and learners who get left behind when design fails to account for how people actually work. Her research on neuro-centric design — on how the built environment physically and cognitively shapes learning outcomes — has pioneered a conversation in the field.

Together, she and Jolene bring academic rigor, on-the-ground practice and industry relationships that will make learninginsight authoritative from its first issue.

Each issue will feature project showcases, thought leadership, research-driven reporting, product and material coverage, and conversations with the designers and educators and leaders driving change. Like officeinsight, the magazine will be available digitally, which makes it accessible, reader-first and free to subscribe.

July 22 is the launch date. Between now and then, we’re eager to connect with readers, contributors and industry partners about editorial opportunities, advertising and the many ways to be part of this from the beginning.

I’ve always believed that the best design publications don’t just cover change; they’re part of it. learninginsight is built on that belief. I hope you’ll join us.
