For many, THE MART is synonymous with NeoCon, the blockbuster June event that anchors the industry calendar. But its role in design extends far beyond that single week. On any given day, the building hums with activity — conversations, workshops, celebrations and collaborations that shape where the industry is heading next.

That year-round energy is exactly what officeinsight celebrates in “Converge,” the magazine OI Publications produces for THE MART, which published today as a magazine-within-a-magazine inside officeinsight magazine. The name fits. To converge means to come together — and that’s what happens every day in this building. Designers, dealers, manufacturers and clients meet here to exchange ideas, challenge assumptions and forge partnerships that move the industry forward.

The past several months have been proof of that momentum. From the ThinkLab End-User Hackathon to the intimate Delve Series: Workplace, THE MART has become the industry’s year-round classroom and living lab. Each gathering tells a different part of the same story: that design thrives on connection, and that THE MART remains the most powerful place for those connections to happen.

And the story continues. Many in commercial interiors know THE MART for NeoCon, but it’s bustling year-round as the stories in the latest issue of Converge show. If you missed those events, don’t worry: plenty more are on the calendar between now and next year’s NeoCon.

Included in upcoming events taking place at THE MART is next month’s 30/30 Conference, a three-day celebration of designers under 30 who are shaping the industry’s future. The event brings together emerging designers from across the country for keynotes, hands-on sessions, product showcases, and mentoring — a true convergence of fresh talent and experienced voices.

Before the year ends, THE MART will also hold two Design Lecture Series events. On Nov. 19, Holley Henderson of H2 Ecodesign leads “The Power of Common Sense Sustainability: Health + People,” offering actionable insights on making sustainability both practical and human-centered. On Dec. 17, Bryan Mills of Mills Technologies presents “Smart Spaces: Integrating Technology into Interior Design,” a CEU session exploring how automated lighting, climate control, and entertainment systems can blend seamlessly into interiors.

The new year will keep the momentum going. Returning in 2026, the INDEAL Champion Conference, “Connect & Thrive,” will again gather Dealers and Brands for three days of hands-on engagement, education and networking. The invite-only event brings together INDEAL Champions and Brand Partners to share insights on platforms, services and strategy.

And then there’s NeoCon itself — always evolving. In 2026, NeoCon will debut “Illuminate,” a new show-within-a-show dedicated to architectural, technical and decorative lighting. Held June 8–10 on THE MART’s reimagined 7th floor, Illuminate will showcase premier and emerging lighting brands through immersive exhibits and expert-led programming. It’s an expansion designed to highlight lighting as an essential part of good design. As part of this evolution, NeoCon will also introduce a special Preview Day on Sunday, June 7, giving press and attendees an early look at the innovations lighting up the industry before the official opening.

While NeoCon will always be the headline, what happens between those headlines is just as vital. The ideas exchanged at THE MART throughout the year — in showrooms, over coffee, or during late-night receptions — are what truly move design forward.
